A 23-year-old man died Thursday night in a crash in Greer, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office.
Coroner Rusty Clevenger said the crash happened just after 6 p.m. on East Wade Hampton Boulevard at the intersection of Ridgewood Drive in the city of Greer.
He said Danny Eugene Hiers III, 23, of Greenville, died at the scene.
Police said the preliminary investigation shows that Hiers was driving a motorcycle northbound on East Wade Hampton Boulevard when a Chrysler minivan tried to cross East Wade Hampton Boulevard on Ridgewood Drive.
Police said the motorcycle struck the front driver's side of the minivan.
"The Greer Police Department’s Traffic Team is continuing the investigation into collision and charges are pending the final investigation findings," Lt. Patrick Fortenberry said.
