Police investigate after juvenile shot in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE)- Pawtucket Police are investigating a shooting on Spring St.

Police say they responded to the area of North Bend St. and Spring St. around 2:40 p.m. for a report of a disturbance and possible shots fired. Upon arrival, police found a female juvenile victim they believe to be unrelated to the disturbance with a gunshot wound to her leg.

Police tell ABC6 the girl was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and her injuries are not life-threatening.

ABC6 crews on scene say police have established a crime scene on Spring Street near North Bend Street. Officers have been seen searching the area and questioning neighbors.

Three cars within the crime scene sustained extensive damage, one with heavy damage to its drivers side door.

Crews witnessed about a dozen officers on scene investigating.
