A Texas man was arrested on multiple requested charges after a pursuit early this morning through parts of south Salina.

Officers were called to the Speakeasy Bar and Grill, 2030 S. Ohio Street, around midnight for the report of a disorderly subject. While on their way, they were told that the person had left Speakeasy in a black pickup and was headed southbound on S. Ohio Street. An officer who was northbound in the 2300 block of S. Ohio Street observed a black pickup headed toward him allegedly doing 85 mph in a 35 mph zone, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

The officer turned around and began following the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. When the officer caught up with the pickup, in the 2600 block of S. Ohio, it was allegedly traveling at 45 mph, Forrester said. The pickup failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.

The pickup traveled on W. Schilling Road and some of the side streets to the south of W. Schilling Road. At the intersection of W. Schilling Road and Enterprise Drive, officers were able to deploy a spike strip, which the pickup's right front tire drove over, Forrester said.

The pickup then made its way to S. Ninth Street, where it headed south. The pickup pulled into the parking lot of the Rodeway Inn, 3932 S. Ninth, and pulled behind the building. Forrester said the driver, identified as Rick Cisneros, 33, of Texas, exited the pickup and allegedly fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended.

Cisneros was arrested on the following requested charges, according to Forrester.

●Felony flee and elude

●Felony interference with a law enforcement officer

●Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol

●No driver's license

●No proof of insurance

●Multiple traffic violations
