Hallsville dedicates baseball field to longtime coach Barry Koeneke

HALLSVILLE, Mo —
Late last week, Hallsville High School honored retired baseball coach and Missouri Sports Hall of Famer Barry Koeneke with a jersey retirement, and by naming their baseball field after him.

Koeneke retired in 2021 after spending 46 years coaching baseball at Hallsville. In his 46 years as Indians baseball coach, Koeneke's teams won 16 district titles, made eight final four appearances and claimed three state championships.

In 1993, Koeneke was inducted into the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and in 2019 the longtime coach and the Hallsville Indians Baseball program were inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
