Live concerts will continue next month at the Narrows Center for the Performing Arts in Fall River. Performers range from legendary guitarists to country hitmakers.
Opening the month on Saturday, October 2, will be GA-20 and JD Simo. GA-20 was formed by friends Pat Faherty and Matthew Stubbs in Boston in 2018. The project was born out of their mutual love of heavy traditional blues, rhythm and blues, and rock & roll of the late 1950s and early 1960s. JD Simo is dedicated to keeping music real, raw and honest.
With more than 40 years of American roots music under his belt, Rodney Crowell is a two-time Grammy Award winner with five number-1 hits and six Americana Music Association Awards. He will be performing on October 12 at the Narrows.
Acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke will be at the Narrows on October 14. A staple of the music scene since the 1960s, Mr. Kottke’s propulsive finger-style playing has cemented his reputation as a true innovator.
On October 15 the Narrows will present Marty Stuart and His Superlatives, one of country music’s most historically minded new traditionalists and one of the genre’s more-flamboyant showmen.
American blues and jazz pianist, organist, singer and composer Anthony Geraci and his band will perform with the Erin Harpe Country Blues Duo on Saturday, October 16. A keyboard player with a professional career in excess of 40 years, Mr. Geraci has played on stage with Muddy Waters, BB King, Otis Rush, Chuck Berry, Big Mama Thornton, Big Joe Turner and Jimmie Rodgers. Erin Harpe has been compared to legendary blues women like Bonnie Raitt and Rory Block.
Ongoing in the Narrows art gallery through November 6 is an exhibit celebrating the life and artwork of Maximillian Bready, known throughout the graffiti art world as GYER.
The Narrows Center for the Arts is at 16 Anawan Street in Fall River. Show tickets are available through the venue’s website. Current information regarding COVID-19 protocols can also be found online.
