SAGAMORE HILLS – An 81-year-old Macedonia man has been charged in connection to a July fatality, where he struck a Cleveland motorcyclist at Valley View Road in Sagamore Hills.

The man has been charged with manslaughter, a second degree misdemeanor, and right of way, a minor misdemeanor. He pleaded not guilty to the charges Aug. 5 in the Stow Municipal Court. A pretrial hearing has been set for Sept. 28, and a trial date has been set for Oct. 19 before Judge Lisa Coates.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Sarah Browning-Nosky, 33, was driving east on a 2007 black Honda Shadow motorcycle on July 19 when the man, driving a 2020 white Ford Explorer, turned south in front of her from Valley View Road toward Chaffee Road.

The patrol said Browning-Nosky sustained serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to Cleveland Metro Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. She was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.

The Macedonia man was not injured. The patrol previously said the speed limit on that stretch of road is 35 mph, and neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors.
