In 2018 Liz Wall Strohfus Field at Faribault Municipal Airport was struck by a tornado.  In fact the anniversary was this week. When the storm was over there was not much left of the Arrival/Departure Building at the airport.

Travis Block, City of Faribault Public Works Director is the City's Laison with the Airport Advistory Commission.  He was joined on Thursday's KDHL AM Minnesota Program by longtime Commission member Pete Johnson.

An open house is Saturday, September 25, 2021 between 8:00 a.m. and Noon. People can take tours of the new Main Terminal (Arrival/Departure) Building at the airport.

There will be refreshments until they are all gone.

Johnson explained the airport was placed at it's present location in 1947 after two previous locations in the community.

Well technically I guess they weren't airports just places to take off and land.  Present day Alexander Park North and an area on the south end of town called Bluebird Estates.

Do you remember this?

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.

This is interesting reading.  Any surprises here for you?

LOOK: Here are the pets banned in each state

Because the regulation of exotic animals is left to states, some organizations, including The Humane Society of the United States, advocate for federal, standardized legislation that would ban owning large cats, bears, primates, and large poisonous snakes as pets.

Read on to see which pets are banned in your home state, as well as across the nation.
