French defender Ibrahima Konate has started two games for the Reds so far in his debut season. He has also settled in well, and has been helped along by his French-speaking teammates, he said speaking to liverpoolfc.com.

“Every player helped me in this team when I came the first day, to be like at my home. This was very important for a new player and for me. Now, I think every player can see this on the pitch: I am very happy to be with every player. This is good and I hope this will continue in the future”, he said.

He has also been enjoying what Liverpool has to offer beyond football.

“I am in a new city and I need to know how the city is where I am. I love the city. I was in the city centre. And where I live, not so far in the car I have the sea – very beautiful. And yes, it’s nice – very nice.”

He also spoke about his adjustment to the Premier League’s challenging levels.

“Of course, but I knew this already because before I watched some games in the Premier League and sometimes you can see the last can win against the first of the Premier League.

“When I played this game against Crystal Palace, you know the team against who you play, they know they can win against you. They don’t care who you are. I think this is good in the Premier League – every game is difficult. The game against Brentford will be also difficult and we have to be ready for this game.”
