Montreal Canadiens players hit the ice for the first time yesterday when 70 players reported for training camp at the Bell Sports Complex.
The 40 forwards, 23 defenders and seven goaltenders skated in three separate groups, and will do the same tomorrow.
There were a handful of absences from camp yesterday, some that were more expected than others.
We all knew that Shea Weber would not be skating as he will be out for the season with various injuries. We were also told that Carey Price might not quite be ready to begin camp either, but there were a few other surprising names on the injured list yesterday.
