According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semitruck driven by a 54-year-old Arcadia man was traveling north on County Road 951 around 11 a.m., attempting to make a right turn onto Immokalee Road. The Naples 21-year-old was cycling west on Immokalee Road, attempting to cross County Road 951 within the crosswalk, when the semitruck failed to yield and struck him. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing. Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
