From the Barton County Attorney's Office...

In June of 2020, Bryce Moran was convicted of a Third Offense Felony DUI in Barton County and placed on probation.

On September 23, 2021 the defendant was back in court on allegations that he had violated his probation by committing a new crime.

At an evidentiary hearing, Assistant Barton County Attorney Colin Reynolds showed the court video from the Rice County jail where Moran battered a fellow inmate.

District Court Judge Carey Hipp found that Moran had committed a new crime while on probation. The State of Kansas asked the court to revoke the probation and have the defendant serve his underlying sentence.

After hearing arguments of defense counsel, Joe Shepack, the judge ordered the defendant to serve a two-day jail sanction and placed him back on probation.
