Halloween events in Tampa Bay: time for boos and booze

We have Halloween events for just about anyone, from family-friendly pumpkin patches to Halloween-themed burlesque shows and light displays.

Halloween season is upon us, and there are events and parties to fill just about anyone’s treat bucket.

There are family-friendly fall festivals, pumpkin patches and light displays. For those that like things more gory, you’ll find lots of haunted houses and scares. And for the party types, there’s lots of booze to add to your boos. Check event details for any pandemic precautions; many did not list requirements.

Family friendly

Pumpkin Festival and Haunted Farm: You’ll find everything from traditional pumpkins to specialty and baking pumpkins at this family festival with hay rides, a corn pit, mini crop maze, petting zoo, live entertainment, haunted maze, bounce pillow, haunted barn, hay chute slide and a scarecrow contest. $12.50, 2 and younger free. 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 30. Harvest Holler Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch: Bring the family to stroll the field of this year’s corn maze. Halloween Zine: Middle and high school students can bring a scary story, or write one of their own, to create a Halloween-themed Zine. A zine is a small circulation publication similar to a magazine. Halloween on Central: Nearly 2 miles of Central Avenue will close down to traffic for a five-hour car-free Halloween event. Scream-A-Geddon: The horror park nestled in what feels like the middle of nowhere in Dade City runs on select nights through Oct. 31. Undead in the Water: A frantic and terrified crew tell tales of a mysterious female apparition aboard the American Victory ship. Dia de los Muertos 2: Approximately 28 Florida artists created 70 Dia de los Muertos-inspired pieces in glass, fiber, metal, wood and paint on canvas.   • Nightmare 2021 kicks off with a free screening of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. The film stars Tampa Bay-area actors Eugenie Bondurant and Paul Wilson, who will be available for a Q and A, autographs and photos after the show. Free (RSVP required). 8:30 p.m. Oct. 16.
