A fair that dates to the 1860s will resume in Maine this weekend after taking a year off due to COVID-19.
The Cumberland Fair kicks off this Sunday and runs until October 2.
COVID safety still a concern as the state sees a surge in cases, but fair organizers say they’ve got COVID safety on their minds.
"We've got some options outside. We're putting in some signage, but we're pretty well prepared for that and I think certainly the general public is aware of what should and shouldn't be done in our time of COVID,” said Lyle Merrifield, fair organizer.
You can also get vaccinated if you haven’t already while at the fair. A vaccine clinic will be held starting on September 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by gate 8.
The Maine CDC will be offering the one dose Johnson & Johnson shot.
Admission for the Cumberland Fair is $12 for 13 and older. Kids 12 and under are free.
Senior days are Tuesday and Thursday and admission is $5. Admission is $5 on Military Monday.
