Jack Grealish Compared To Four Star Players, Pep Guardiola Can Turn Man City Winger Into A 'Superstar'

Jack Grealish Compared To Four Star Players, Pep Guardiola Can Turn Man City Winger Into A 'Superstar'

Tim Sherwood has suggested that Man City winger Jack Grealish is "on his way" to becoming one of the best players in the world.

Manchester City star Jack Grealish should be in the same “conversation” as the likes of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe and Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

That is according to former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood, who believes City boss Pep Guardiola can transform Grealish into a “superstar.”

The reigning Premier League holders smashed the British transfer record to sign Grealish from Aston Villa for a whopping £100m fee.

Grealish, who is unfazed by his hefty transfer fee, has made seven appearances for City this season and scored twice and registered two assists.

The 26-year-old winger will be under the microscope in the coming weeks as City face Chelsea, PSG and Liverpool in their next three fixtures.

Sherwood has now insisted that Grealish should be compared alongside the likes of Mbappe, Kane, Neymar and Erling Haaland.

However, the former Aston Villa boss believes the aforementioned quartet are in a tier below Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who are both on a different level.

Speaking to My Betting Sites, Sherwood said: “Jack’s a real talent and Pep can make him into a superstar. He’s on his way to doing that. He’s on his way to being on that level [as one of the world’s best players].

“Over the last three or four years, we've been judging everyone on Ronaldo and Messi and if we’re calling them world class… then no-one else is. They are out of this world, they’re extraordinary players.

“Now, the next level down I suppose you’re looking at Kylian Mbappe, Neymar with his ability, Haaland, Harry Kane and Grealish has got to be in that conversation. He’s an extraordinary player, he’s playing international football.

“No-one is on the level of Messi and Ronaldo a couple of seasons ago, but who’s going to be the next player to come through? Grealish is at the right club, he’ll win trophies.”

City will resume their Premier League title defence on Saturday in their showdown with league leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
