Denim may be known for its indigo blue hue, but trend forecasters are looking to an array of shades for fall.

Trendalytics identified purple as the top color for jeans, accounting for 42 percent of colored denim searches, followed by green and pink at 15 percent, red at 14 percent, yellow at 6 percent and orange at 5 percent.

This color wave coupled with looser fits is a recipe for retail gold. Zara went viral on TikTok for its brightly colored wide-leg jeans, which resulted in the term “Zara jeans” collecting a whopping 49,000 weekly searches, up 35 percent from last year, Trendalytic reported.

Since foliage won’t be the only source of color this fall, make sure your closets are stocked with these colorful options.

This wide-leg jean is what drove fast-fashion retailer Zara to become the top denim brand in terms of search growth since 2020. Available in an array of bright Y2K colors like orange and lime green, these jeans feature a rigid construction and loose fit perfect to balance fall’s chunky boot trend.
