Octopus

THE MASKED SINGER

The new season kicked off with a double elimination, but only one unmasking. The first to go was a pimped out purple 'pus. The towering sea creature pulled off his bafflingly furry head to reveal L.A. Laker Dwight Howard.

Mother Nature

THE MASKED SINGER
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

The season premiere ended on a major cliffhanger, with Mother Nature being eliminated but not revealed. Thankfully, fans only had to wait one night to learn the great Gaia was none other than actress, producer, and TV host Vivica A. Fox.

Pufferfish

THE MASKED SINGER
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

In the second episode, the show also decided to puff puff pass on letting the pouty-mouthed songstress advance. The colorful diva pulled off her gills to reveal legendary singer Toni Braxton, whose voice had been muffled by wearing a face mask underneath her mask face the entire time.

Dalmatian

the masked singer
fox (2)

The Group B premiere proved to be ruff stuff for Dalmatian, who lost his spot in the competition and was sent to the dog house. The flowing fido was revealed to be Grammy-nominated rapper Tyga, who said he was inspired to do the show after seeing Lil Wayne show off his robotic pipes in season 3.

Baby

the masked singer
fox (2)

Playtime's over for Baby. The creepily giant infant was put down for a nap after singing an unexpected operatic version of The Flintstones theme song, and was revealed to be Larry the Cable Guy. The unmasked comedian told EW that although his costume may have "freaked out" some, he loved it and so did real children. "It was a crazy suit. I know a lot of the older people were freaked out by the baby. They thought it was a freaky character. A lot of the kids though, from what I'm understanding, most people's kids thought it was awesome. They thought it was hilarious. They loved the Baby. They thought it was cute. The parents were freaked out."

Cupcake

the masked singer season 3
fox (2)

The sugar rush is over. The colorful Cupcake gave us one last bite before being eliminated when Group B returned to the stage. The sweet treat was unwrapped to reveal Grammy-winner Ruth Pointer. Fittingly, the Pointer Sisters singer was, in fact, "so excited" to be on the show. "I was excited as hell, are you kidding me?" she told EW. "I had been sort of hammering at my manager to get on the show. He had another client that had been on it, and I said, 'I want to do that show! It looks like so much fun.' And so when he called and said that they got me on the show, I was like, 'Yes!'"

Hamster

the masked singer
fox (2)

Hamster has been let out of his cage, but he's doing just fine. The funny furball who playfully messed with host Nick Cannon all season was unmasked to reveal comedian and Saturday Night Live alum Rob Schneider. The actor told EW he knew he'd get the call to do the show eventually, but doesn't think many of his famous pals would be as willing to join in the fun. "I think Adam Sandler would murder at it, he'd be great at it, but he's claustrophobic. I remember how many hours it took him to get into the fat suit on Click, so I don't see him climbing into a suit like that anytime soon."

Beach Ball

FOX (2)

Beach Ball had just bounced into our lives before rolling away forever. The last Wild Card to join season 6 gave a spirited performance of "Party in the USA" and was eliminated minutes later. Honey Boo Boo and Mama June from Toddlers & Tiaras and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Jester

THE MASKED SINGER, John Lydon
Johnny Rotten as Jester. FOX (2)

It's safe to sleep again. Jester, the show's most disturbing contestant yet, kept everyone on their toes with his wild antics and unique musical choices ranging from metal to country. The creepy crooner had the last laugh when he turned out to be someone nobody had guessed: John Lydon, a.k.a. Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols. Anarchy, indeed.

Pepper

Pepper, Natasha Bedingfield
FOX (2)

The heat is off. Despite an impressive run all season and beating the show's first Take It Off Buzzer guess, Pepper was shockingly out in a double elimination. The spicy songstress unmasked to reveal "Unwritten" singer Natasha Bedingfield. Turns out, she was just as stunned as fans that her moving rendition of Harry Styles' "Sign of the Times" wasn't enough to stay in the competition. "I really loved that song, and I thought it was really emotional," she told EW. "So I wasn't expecting it. Yeah, that was a bit of a bummer. But, you know, you just keep going."

Mallard

Mallard in THE MASKED SINGER; Willie Robertson
FOX (2)

What the duck? The Mallard just didn't fit the bill to make it to the finals, and it turned out his masked identity was a cheeky clue all along. The dapper mask came off to expose a foe to feathered fowl, Duck Dynasty's Willie Robertson. "I felt like I was hiding in plain sight with that thing on," Robertson told EW of his costume. "When I saw it, I was like, 'Oh, 100 percent. If y'all let me wear that, I am all in.' And they said they thought it would kind of throw people off because it was so on the nose that they just loved the idea."

Caterpillar

THE MASKED SINGER: Caterpillar; Bobby Berk
Michael Becker / FOX; FOX

Brace yourselves. The cuddly Caterpillar with the adorable tooth work and pop star pipes crawled away in another double elimination episode. Under the mask wasn't a boy bander as many suspected, instead he was revealed as Queer Eye star Bobby Berk. The interior design extraordinaire told EW the rest of the Fab 5 was in on his big secret early on. "We were actually filming the last episode of season 6 of Queer Eye the day I got the call to do this. And we were all sitting in the trailer together, so they overheard the initial conversation. So, they knew. They knew. Yeah, so they'd known from even before I went on."

Skunk

THE MASKED SINGER: Skunk; Faith Evans
Michael Becker/FOX; FOX

Well, this stinks. After an impressive run and a powerful duet with Michael Bolton, Skunk just couldn't tame the Bull to win the Group A finals. The furry diva was unmasked to reveal Faith Evans. The Grammy-winning R&B songstress told EW the experience lived up to her expectations, but that she had hoped to make it to the end. "It's a whole lot of fun, but it's also a whole lot of work if you really want to stick in there for the long haul. I remember a couple of days on the way to rehearsals and choreography and stuff, and the driver would be like, 'Oh, you're still here?' And I'm like, 'What do you mean? I'm trying to stay.' He's like, 'Everybody else doesn't try to stay to the end.' And I was like, 'Well, I am trying to!'"

Banana Split

THE MASKED SINGER
FOX (2)

Week after week, Banana Split melted our hearts with their great performances and cute interviews. After a lively duet with panelist Robin Thicke in the Group B Finals, plus a separate rendition of "Singin' in the Rain," Banana Split got sent home, leaving Queen of Hearts to join Bull in the season finale. They were unmasked to reveal 16-time Grammy-winning composer and record producer David Foster and singer-songwriter and actress Katharine McPhee. The real-life couple told EW they were devastated to not make it to the finale. "I was very upset that we got kicked off," McPhee said. "I really wanted to take it all. You know, to speak of American Idol, I came in second on American Idol. I wanted to take this one home and it just didn't happen again. So maybe it's just not in the cards for me to be No. 1" Foster jokingly added, "Maybe it's Dancing With the Stars next, the Mirrorball Trophy."

Bull

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

Now that's some Bull! The belting beast put up an impressive fight, but in the end he was tamed by the Queen of Hearts. He was unmasked and revealed to be singer, dancer, and former American Idol semi-finalist Todrick Hall, who revealed to EW he thought panelist Nicole Scherzinger helped protect him from early elimination. "I knew that she knew who I was the first episode," Hall says. "I knew that she was going to hold it close to her chest because there was a Take It Off Buzzer this year, and I know that she didn't want me to get taken off because I'm not a person that gets to perform on Fox Television."

Queen of Hearts

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

All hail the Queen! The season 6 Golden Mask Trophy went to the Queen of Hearts, who was unmasked as Grammy-nominated singer Jewel. The reigning songstress revealed to EW that her impressive performance of "La Vie en Rose" earlier this season was not as effortless as it appeared. "Not knowing French and not being able to have a teleprompter was hard," she admits. "I actually spoke the French onto a track that I had in my in-ears. I had a track speaking the French, and then I would hear it and be able to sing it in time. It was very strange to do. If people could have heard what was happening in my ears, it was very off-putting, but I got through it!"
