Tokischa & Rosalia Debut ‘Linda’ at 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards

Just three weeks after they dropped their first-ever collaborative effort, Tokischa and Rosalia debuted “Linda” on TV at the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday night (Sept. 23).

The Dominican newcomer and Spanish artist lit up the Watsco Center with their viral dembow-meets-flamenco fusion about two best friends who kiss. Joined by an all-girl dance group, Toki rocked a black baby doll and Rosalia wore a red latex dress with a split on the legs.

Hailing from the barrios, Tokischa says she feels proud that the local scene from “el bajo mundo” is getting exposure. “It’s really good, and represents where we come from,” she previously told Billboard. “It’s music that’s getting commercialized. It’s nice to come from the barrio and share with the world what we live and our rhythms. Our music is being accepted and it fills me with pride.”

Considered the longest-running awards show in Latin music, the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which aired on Telemundo live from Miami’s Watsco Center, is the only awards show to honor the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music as determined by the sales, streaming radio airplay and social data that informs Billboard’s weekly charts during a one-year period.
