These two former North Coast League foes now find themselves in the Crown Conference with other former NCL schools VASJ, NDCL and Walsh Jesuit. … Lake Catholic is off to a rough start at 1-4, but had a 20-7 lead on Kenston a week ago before losing with less than a minute remaining in the game. QB Jaxon French has thrown for nearly 900 yards, with his favorite targets being Aiden Fitzgerald and Tyler Seacrist. The Cougars have been a pass-heavy team for the past four weeks, so expect that to be the case again in this one. That being said, pass protection is going to be pretty big for Lake. … Padua had a big fourth-quarter comeback to beat Bedford last week. RB Caden Fyock scored twice in the fourth quarter and finished with 107 yards on 12 carries. Lake Catholic struggled with run defense last week, giving up 380 yards on the ground to Kenston, so the Cougars will look to tighten that up against their longtime league rival.
