Three of Mexico’s strongest female voices joined forces onstage at the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday night (Sept. 23) to pay tribute to the late Juan Gabriel.
Wearing a sparkly fitted red dress, Yuri kicked off the tribute melody with “Abrazame Muy Fuerte.” She was followed by Guadalupe Pineda, who performed “Se Me Olvido Otra Vez” in a flower-printed white dress. Dressed in a charro-inspired golden gown, Ana Barbara sang “Te Sigo Amando.”
The renowned Mexican songstresses then gathered for the grand finale, where they performed “Me Nace del Corazon” and “Amor Eterno,” flaunting their strong, powerhouse vocals.
The beautiful tribute comes five years after El Divo de Juarez passed away on Aug. 28, 2016.
Considered the longest-running awards show in Latin music, the Billboard Latin Music Awards is the only awards show to honor the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music as determined by the sales, streaming radio airplay, and social data that informs Billboard’s weekly charts during a one-year period.
