Philadelphia shootings leave several dead Thursday night, including driver in Nicetown

Police are searching for suspects in all of these cases.

Driver among 3 killed in Philly shootings Thursday night
Philadelphia police say the 29-year-old man was driving his Toyota sedan when a gunman opened fire around 7:30 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man was shot and killed while driving in Philadelphia's Nicetown section, one of several fatal shootings in the city on Thursday night.

Police say the 29-year-old man was driving his Toyota sedan when a gunman opened fire on the 3500 block of N. 21st Street around 7:30 p.m.

The victim was found slumped behind the wheel unresponsive a block away on the 3600 block of N. 21st Street.

Police say the man was shot multiple times and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

He was later identified as Terrell Harris of the 5900 block of Summerdale Avenue.

According to Chief Inspector Scott Small with the Philadelphia Police Department, at least 10 shots were fired on the block.

"It appears that the shooter or shooters were firing shots at this vehicle from the 3600 block of 21st while the vehicle was going southbound," said Small.

Small says there is a Lyft sticker in the windshield of the car but it's unclear if the man was working for the company at the time of the shooting.

Also on Thursday night, police say a double shooting on the 2800 block of N. Orkney Street left a man dead.

A drive-by-shooting in Philadelphia's Mantua section on Thursday left four people injured.

A 31-year-old man and a 52-year-old man were both shot around 7:44 p.m. The 31-year-old man died at the hospital. The second victim is expected to survive.

The man who died was identified as Efrain Miguel Sanchez of the 2800 block of North Orkney Street.

Meanwhile, police say a man in his 20s was shot and killed around 8:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of Wakeling Street.

He was shot multiple times in the head. His name has not been released.

At about 8:48 p.m., police responded to the 4800 block of Osage Avenue to find a man with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was later identified as Phillip Wise of the 800 block of North 48th Street.

Earlier in the day, a shooting at the intersection of 38th and Aspen streets in the city's Mantua section left four people injured.

No arrests have been made in connection with these shootings.
