After months of waiting, the next Nintendo Direct is finally here, promising 40 minutes of Nintendo content for everyone this September.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Promises To Ultimatize the Game
We kicked the show off with Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, a massive expansion to the Switch-exclusive Monster Hunter game. This includes new stories, locales, monsters, hunting actions, and quest ranks with the expansion filling the role often of iterative releases in the past filled.

Mario Party Superstars Prepares to Party
Mario Party Superstars is bringing back old boards like Woody Woods, Tropical Islands, and more. There will also be Mount mini-games as a mini-game game mode that has seven courses for players to experience. Mario Party Superstars releases on October 29th.
RPGs Coming to Switch
Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is an RPG where everything is represented as cards. Turn-based card battles are based on skills and luck. Yoko Taro's hand is on this one as it tries to be a unique take on the genres, which given Taro's history seems likely.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is coming to the Nintendo Switch in the near future. This narrative-focused RPG has you developing and changing skills based on your choices. Disco Elysium: The Final Cut will be released on Nintendo Switch on October 12th.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass Wave 2 Revealed
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity's expansion pass is finally getting its second part. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass Wave 2: Guardian of Rememberance will be available on October 29th. This includes a new story, Battle for Kakariko Village, Battle of Goponga Village, and more. It also includes new stages and playable characters, like Purah and Robbie. There is also an additional mystery character.
Chocobo GP Is Basically Final Fantasy Kart
A Chocobo Mario Kart-Esq game called Chocobo GP is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch. Chocobo GP includes story and custom race game modes as well as a bracket-styled tournament that supports up to 64 players. Some of these modes support online and/or local multiplayer. . Many familiar faces from the Final Fantasy series can be seen in the trailer, including Vivi from Final Fantasy IX.
Familiar sites are also making an appearance, like Alexandria and Cid's Test Track. Magical magicite can be found within Magic Eggs scattered throughout the tracks. Magical elements will be applied to racers that allow them to cast spells against other racers. It will release only on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
Final Smash Direct Announced
The final fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is being revealed on October 5th, 10:00 a.m. ET. Sakurai will also showcase the fighter in the stream. This will be the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land Ends a Year Without Kirby Next Year
Kirby and the Forgotten Land was announced (following leaks earlier in the day by Nintendo), featuring Kirby in a seemingly open world. A mysterious new setting features abandoned environments and has familiar movement for Kirby. The game is aiming to release in the Spring of 2022.
Animal Crossing Direct Announced
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting its own Direct in October, which will have information on new content, including Brewster's Cafe. This will hopefully address fans complaints about a lack of content updates for a while.
Mario Golf Update Now Available.
Mario Golf: Super Rush is getting new free content. Ninja and Koopa Troopa are new characters along with two new characters. The update is coming out later today.
Disney Ports coming to Switch
Disney got a small block announcing a pair of games coming to Nintendo Switch. Disney Magical World 2: Enhanced Edition is arriving on Nintendo Switch this holiday, featuring all of the 3DS game's DLC.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 11th, so if you haven't played it you'll have a chance to on the go soon.
Dying Light Coming to Switch
Dying Light 2: Stay Human is coming to Switch as a cloud version - meaning you'll need to be connected to the Internet to play this game on Nintendo Switch. This will be available on February 4th, along with a demo. Additionally, you can play Dying Light on Switch before the release of the sequel on October 19.
Triangle Strategy Release Date Announced
Project Triangle Strategy is getting development changes based on player feedback from fans, as well as a finalized name as Triangle Strategy. These development updates include difficulty changes, upgrades to the visuals, camera angle controls, and the ability to review dialogue. Gameflow and loading times have also been streamlined since the last demo. The game is launching on March 4th, 2022.
New Metroid Dread Information
Metroid Dread has Samus going to planet ZDR to find out if x-parasites still exist. She's also on a mission to figure out a mystery involving the research robots on the planet that have gone dark. The planet is divided into multiple environments with different organisms. Metroid Dread releases on October 8th.
Nintendo Switch Online gets Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis Games
Nintendo Switch Online is getting a much-desired update through a new membership plan, which gives you access to a variety of Nintendo 64 games, including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The SEGA Genesis is getting the same treatment with classic titles. This new membership plan is arriving in late October and is titled the Expansion Pack. Nintendo is also releasing wireless Switch controllers for both the Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis.
More RPGs to Switch
Shadowrun is coming to Nintendo Switch with a three-pack of Harebrained Schemes Shadowrun games as Shadowrun Trilogy. This will feature all three of their games: Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Dragonfall, and Shadowrun Hong Kong.
Deltarune: Chapter 2 was recently released on PC, and is now available as a free update on Switch to Deltarune Chapter 1.
Castlevania Advance Collection Available Today
While rating boards had been spoiling the existence of the Castlevania Advance Collection for a while, Capcom still managed to surprise when they got their trailer to the screen. This was because they revealed it is available today on Nintendo Switch.
Actraiser Renaissance Remakes Quintet's Classic and Available Now
One of the SNES' stars of RPGs was Quintet, who often published Enix (now of Square Enix). One of their games was the brilliant Actraiser which mixed side-scrolling platform action and god game-like strategy. Now, Square Enix has brought it to the modern era with Actraiser Renaissance available today with all-new graphics, and a remixed soundtrack that you can switch with the original on the fly.
Mario Movie Coming Holiday 2022
The Mario Movie is releasing in theaters in North America on December 21st, 2022. Chris Pratt is voicing Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy is voicing Princess Peach, and Charlie Day will be voicing Luigi. As for Bowser, they managed to drag up Jack Black, while Toad will be voiced by comedian Keegan-Michael Key. Donkey Kong will also be making an appearance in the movie, and will be voiced by Seth Rogen. Charles Martinet, the voice actor for Mario in the past, will be involved in the movie in an unknown role at this time.
Splatoon 3 Coming in 2022
Splatoon 3 was announced and its main story is the Return of the Mammalians. Splatsville is known as the "City of Chaos" and is the setting for Splatoon 3. The city has cultures from many generations, which creates Turf Wars within the city. As you might expect, there will be new main and special weapons. The plot will feature the return of mammals to a world that had only two cats remaining of the mammals previously. It is scheduled to release in 2022.
Bayonetta 3 Releasing in 2022
Bayonetta 3 got a lengthy trailer with a ton of gameplay (which looks awesome) and is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in 2022.
