Elyria at Olmsted Falls

What: Southwestern Conference game

When: 7 p.m., Sept. 24

Where: Vitamix Field at Charles A. Harding Memorial Stadium

Records: Elyria 3-2, Olmsted Falls 4-1

Last year: Teams did not play

For the record: Elyria hasn’t had the warmest welcome to the Southwestern Conference. The Pioneers opened with a loss to Berea-Midpark — who looks like a legitimate contender in the conference — and then had a meeting with Avon in Week 5. Now they’ve got the league’s other unbeaten through three weeks in Olmsted Falls. … The Bulldogs put together a complete effort in their Week 5 win over North Ridgeville. Falls ran for more than 300-yards in the first half against the Rangers and came away with a 49-19 win. … Elyria’s offense will need to hit early and often if they want to avoid an 0-3 conference start. The Pioneers offense has struggled over their last two games and if that happens again in Week 6, the game could be over before it starts. The Bulldogs scored their first five possessions in Week 5 and put North Ridgeville out of reach before the first quarter was over.
