Brunswick at Mentor

What: Greater Cleveland Conference game

When: 7 p.m., Sept. 24

Where: Jerome T. Osborne Stadium

Records: Mentor 3-2 (0-0 GCC), Brunswick 3-2 (1-0 GCC)

Last week: Mentor def. Clarkson, Canada, 41-19, Brunswick def. Euclid, 38-18

For the record: While Brunswick opened league play last week with a win over Euclid, this is Mentor’s GCC opener. The Cardinals experienced an offensive onslaught last week with 41 points, part of which was fueled by a defense that created eight turnovers. Freshman QB Scotty Fox continues to make progress leading the offense, as he threw for five touchdowns in the game. RB Brenden Panhorst missed last week’s game with a concussion but could be back this week. The receivers are led by Mikey Norwood and Evan Harper. When the offensive line is clicking, this can be a very dangerous and dynamic offense. And if the defense continues to create turnovers as it has, look out. … Ethan Fritz threw for 226 yards and ran for 90 yards last week against Euclid. He will be a main focal point of the Cardinals’ defensive effort.
