Mississippi Department of Education releases state wide assessment results

The Mississippi Department of Education has released statewide assessments for 2020-2021 with multiple local school districts earning high marks in the four subjects areas of math, ELA, history, and science.

Ocean Springs School District was one of two districts in the entire state to place in the top ten for student achievement in all four of those subjects.

Other South Mississippi school districts placing in the top ten for subject areas include the following: Biloxi Public Schools placed fourth out of the top ten for math with Ocean Springs in second place.

Pass Christian schools placed sixth and Long Beach schools placed eighth out of the top ten for ELA.

In the science category, Ocean Springs was the top-rated district followed by Pass Christian in second, Biloxi in third, Jackson County schools in seventh place, and George County schools in the number eight spot.

Finally, in the U.S. history spot: after Ocean Springs in third place, Pass Christian placed seventh, Biloxi eighth, and Jackson County ninth.
