Hoyt was recalled by the Angels on Thursday.
Hoyt has spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Salt Lake, where he's posted a 9.42 ERA and 2.02 WHIP across 35.1 innings. He hasn't fared much better in his brief stints with the Angels, as he's allowed six earned runs across eight frames. He'll likely pitch in a low-leverage relief role to close the campaign.
