BROSSARD -- During his press conference on Thursday afternoon, head coach Dominique Ducharme updated the health status of forward Mike Hoffman and goaltender Carey Price.

Both Hoffman (lower-body) and Price (knee) are dealing with injuries preventing them from participating in training camp practices.
With respect to Hoffman, Ducharme indicated that he suffered the injury during his final summer skate before making his way to Montreal.
"He'd already contacted our athletic therapists to let them know he had a small issue. When he arrived, they treated him right away. There were different ways to treat him, so they did that," explained Ducharme. "He was okay when he skated after that, but then things got worse. He's going to have an MRI. He's doubtful for the start of the season."

Regarding Price, Ducharme anticipates the 14-year veteran to be prepared for the season-opener on October 13 against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
"We knew he wouldn't be here this morning. We knew that a couple of weeks ago. We built a program for him to get back into playing shape. He's skating right now, though. He's going to be on the ice next week with the goalie coach and athletic therapist. After that, they're going to pick it up, go harder and put him in different situations," explained Ducharme. "Then, he's going to join the team practices with us and get ready for playing games. But, we expect him to be ready to play on opening night."

The Canadiens' bench boss is also hopeful that Price, who underwent surgery in late July, can play at least one preseason game before the regular season begins.
