Former cast members of Waterloo Road have shared their delight that the show is being revived.
Earlier today (September 23), the BBC confirmed it was bringing back the school-set series, with events moving to a new location in Greater Manchester.
Many alumni have taken to social media to react to the news, with Scout star Katie McGlynn – who went on to star in Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and is appearing on Strictly Come Dancing – tweeting: "Well this is interesting… @WaterlooRoad #abouttimetoo".

Maggie Budgen actress Melanie Hill, who plays Cathy Matthews on Coronation Street, said: "Woah!!! Now that's #GOODNEWS !!!".
Angela Griffin, who took on the role of Kim Campbell, replied to the news with a series of clapping emojis, while Chelsee Healey (Janeece Bryant) tweeted: "Janeeeeeeeeeeece is readehhhhh".
Richard Mylan (Simon Lowsley) said the revival was "great news", while George Sampson (Kyle Stack) responded with a 'too hot' emoji.
Meanwhile, Dean Smith, who played Phillip Ryan, suggested: "Phillip would make a great/shambolic headteacher. Just saying".

Waterloo Road first launched in 2006, running for 10 series until 2015, the BBC saying at the time that it had "reached the end of its lifecycle".
