Bad Boys For Life co-directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will helm Batgirl, from a script by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). Leslie Grace has already been cast as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. This is also Grace’s second major film role following her leading role in Warner Bros.’ In the Heights.

Additionally, J.K. Simmons is reportedly in talks to reprise his role as Barbara’s father, Commissioner James Gordon. Simmons took over the role in Justice League, and he had more scenes in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. If Simmons does return for Batgirl, it suggests that the film will be connected to the DC Extended Universe.

Batgirl will likely begin filming later this year.
