Full audio from both intimate surprise club shows are available

Seven hundred and thirty-eight days since their last appearance before a live audience, Metallica made their triumphant return to the stage last week with two epic, surprise club concerts in San Francisco and Chicago. Fans beyond the lucky few hundred that snagged tickets will be able to stream full concert recordings from both of these intimate Metallica performances exclusively via nugs.net.

Announced on social media hours before doors opened, Metallica went back to their club roots last Thursday (Sept 16th) for an intimate show at The Independent in their hometown of San Francisco. Performing to a sold out crowd of just 400 lucky fans, the band opened the show with “Whiplash” for the first time ever and delivered a 16-song set of tracks off of eight albums. Four days later, Metallica made their long-awaited return to the Metro in Chicago for the first time since 1983, surprising fans with a second career-spanning setlist featuring 16 songs across nine albums. “Harvester of Sorrow,” “Cyanide,” “Through the Never,” “Welcome Home (Sanitarium),” “Whiskey in the Jar” and “Hardwired” all made their 2021 debut at this show.

Metallica’s highly-anticipated return to live, in-person performances can now be streamed exclusively via Nugs. Audio from the Chicago show will also be available to stream in the coming days with a Nugs subscription, which also unlocks the full Nugs streaming catalog, including nearly 700 live Metallica shows and 40+ full-length concerts to watch on-demand.
