BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Cox Communications and Automotive are giving out a total of $125,000 in grant money to five local organizations that are helping to support communities affected by Hurricane Ida.
The funding is possible through the James M. Cox Foundation, according to an official press release.
“We would like to thank the James M. Cox Foundation for its pledge of $125,000 to five local nonprofit organizations working to support those impacted by the storm,” Anthony Pope, senior vice president and region manager of Cox Southeast region said.
The five non-profit organizations are Forward Together New Orleans, Mayor’s Health City Initiative, United Way of Southeast Louisiana, Capital Area United Way and Second Harvest Food Bank.
“Organizations receiving our grant awards and their leaders have always stepped up to the forefront to assist those in need, and their response to Hurricane Ida has been no exception,” Pope said.
All non-profits were awarded $25,000 each.
“At the heart of the Cox giving mission is to empower others to build a better future,” Pope said.
