PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — In a new public service announcement, Gov. Kristi Noem says 90 percent of the people currently in the ICU did not get a COVID-19 vaccine.
“Keep that in mind when you’re making your personal choice whether to get vaccinated or not,” Noem says in the video (below).
Noem says the parts of the state getting hit the worst are where vaccination rates against the coronavirus is low.
“But regardless if you have been vaccinated, if you get COVID and are at high risk don’t try to tough it out,” she says. “Monoclonal antibody treatments are cutting hospitalizations in half.”
Noem says to ask your doctor if the treatment is right for you.
