MACON, Ga. -- A Macon man could spend 30 years in prison for forcing young victims to send him child pornography through social media.
The US Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Georgia said 37-year-old Deon Moore pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of children.
Police in Fairburn, Ohio opened the investigation in May 2017 after the mother of a 12-year-old contacted their department. She said Moore had been talking to her daughter through text and through Facebook.
Fairburn police learned that Moore sent the victim nude pictures and asked to meet with her through an alias on Facebook, "Nathaniel Ellis."
Moore also had several Facebook friends that looked to be teen girls.
Fairburn police, working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, learned that Moore used Facebook to find his victims, under aliases including Sharod King, Nathaniel Ellis, Jazmine Ellis, and Sharde Carter.
At times, Moore pretended to be a female himself, ranging in age from teens to 30s, depending on the victim he was targeting.
Moore sought out young Black women aged 10 to 16-years-old from numerous states.
He would talk about sex "in explicit terms" with the victims and ask them to send him nude photos and videos. He would also send his victims nude photos and videos of himself.
Investigators discovered Moore started conversations with 1,306 individuals on Facebook, with 80 of these conversations being ongoing, and 30 of which were juveniles.
Moore sent nearly all victims sexually explicit content.
Moore faces a minimum 15-year sentence but could spend a maximum of 30 years behind bars. Upon leaving prison he'll have not less than five years of supervised release, and max fine of $250,000.
Moore is also ordered to pay restitution to any victim listed in his indictment, and to 14 other victims to be filed under seal with the court.
He'll also register as a sex offender for life.
Moore's sentencing date hasn't been set yet.
