As the number of positive COVID-19 cases rises on the Cape, Barnstable County officials want to remind people they are now operating two free testing sites.

A free testing site at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth reopened several weeks ago.

On Sept. 14, the Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment added a second free clinic at the Eastham Police Department at 2550 State Highway (Route 6).

The hours for the Eastham clinic are from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays.

Participants are asked to follow signs to the police station’s rear parking lot and park in the area designated for testing participants, where clinic staff will assist them.

The fairgrounds clinic offers drive-thru testing at the East Gate off Route 151 in East Falmouth. The hours are from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursdays and Sundays.

Both the East Falmouth and Eastham clinics use the PCR test. The clinics are run and staffed primarily by Cape Cod Medical Reserve Corps Volunteers.

People interested in getting a free COVID-19 test at either site can make an appointment online at barnstablecountyhealth.org.
