Myles Turner reportedly cleared for Pacers training camp

Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner has reportedly been cleared for all activities and is a "full go" for training camp next week, according to The Athletic's David Aldridge.

Turner missed 22 of Indiana's final 23 games during the 2020-21 season after suffering a torn plantar plate in his right toe. The 25-year-old averaged 12.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and one assist per game last season while shooting 47.7% from the field and 33.5% from deep.

Turner also led the NBA in blocked shots (3.4 per game) before suffering the injury. He recently posted a photo of his blocks leader award on Instagram with the caption, "2x Champ I Want More!" He also won the award in 2019.

The Pacers' defense struggled in Turner's absence, and the Washington Wizards eventually eliminated them in the play-in tournament.

Turner is entering the third season of a four-year, $80 million deal and will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2022-23 season. He has also been involved in trade rumors this offseason, but it doesn't appear the Pacers have any intention to trade him.

While Turner has been cleared for camp, T.J. Warren is set to undergo a follow-up exam on his left foot stress fracture Thursday. His foot isn't healing at the pace Indiana had hoped, and he's still considered out indefinitely.
