Kristen Stewart struggles with royal divorce in 'Spencer' trailer

Sept. 23 (UPI) -- NEON released the official trailer for Spencer on Thursday. The film, starring Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana, opens Nov. 5.

The trailer shows Diana arriving at the Sandringham Estate for three days to see her children. At this point, her marriage to Prince Charles (Jack Farthing) is already strained.

Diana must keep up appearances as her marriage heads toward divorce. The divorce was finalized in 1996.

The trailer also shows Diana spend time with Prince William (Jack Nielen) and Harry (Freddie Spry). She breaks down in several different scenes, but presents a happy, glamorous side for photographers.

Spencer premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 3. It also played the Telluride Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival with several more festival dates scheduled through September and October.

Pablo Larrain directed Spencer from a script by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. Larrain also directed Jackie, starring Natalie Portman as Jacqueline Kennedy.

Spencer also stars Timothy Spall as Major Alistar Gregory, Sally Hawkins as Maggie, Stella Gonet as The Queen and Richard Sammel as Prince Phillip.
