CaseGlide becomes the latest St. Pete small business success story

The Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Rick Kriseman were on hand to christen CaseGlide’s new downtown office on Wednesday, commemorating the latest St. Pete small business success story.

CaseGlide was founded in 2013 by husband and wife duo Wesley and Carly Todd, both of whom were visibly excited to celebrate the milestone with their team and the community. CaseGlide is a unified claim litigation software solution, and its mission is to provide claims professionals and their attorneys with the innovation they need to be more effective and proactive.

Carly Todd, who serves as COO, said the occasion carried extra meaning for the company. CaseGlide began as a remote-first business long before the practice was widely accepted. It later moved to a hybrid format and now employs over 30 “teammates.” The pandemic forced CaseGlide to return to remote work, even as the company doubled its workforce.

“It was a critical time for our company and our growth, and we knew that we couldn’t build a culture without a home,” said Todd. “All of the Zooms in the world … can’t replace the feeling of being face to face with a teammate.”

Todd called the office a gift for her team to enjoy, celebrate things, create memories and “get away from all that is going on in the world.” The open space, located in the Synovus Bank building, is unique in that there are no assigned seating or attendance requirements. Todd said they realize the pandemic has changed how people feel about the traditional work environment, “and we respect that.”

Todd said her employees are welcome to come and go as their schedules dictate, and when they are in the office, she wants them to feel as comfortable as they do when they are home.

“Our team has worked so hard, and faced so many challenges, and has hit so many milestones,” said Todd. “This team really deserves a place to spend time together.”

She recalled how just last year their team was covered in “squirrel fruit” sitting under a tree in a park during their first in-person get-together “in quite some time.”

“Now we have a place to come together to make more memories, just like that one.”

CEO Wesley Todd said CaseGlide has two superpowers, “the ability to learn and the ability to attract great people.” He added that CaseGlide has helped thousands of adjusters and thousands of attorneys “close nearly 100,000 cases and save tens of millions of dollars.”

Todd said if the company fulfills its mission of saving people money and closing cases, it could change the lives of those that helped to achieve its goals. “As we sit here in this shrine, it is humbling to think this is just the beginning.”

Carly Todd said the new office was the first place they looked at when the lease was expiring at the previous building, “and we were floored. I don’t even think we looked anywhere else.”

Wesley Todd said he was feeling “humbled” and noted that while he and his wife received most of the credit for the company’s success, “we don’t feel that way.” He is quick to give credit for CaseGlide’s rapid success to his teammates “that make it happen every day.”

“We’re really proud and excited, and we want to give as much back to this team as we can,” he said.

Kriseman was all smiles as he told the crowd how much he enjoys ribbon-cutting ceremonies for what they represent. “I get to share the excitement and the celebration with people who are living their dream,” he said. “They pursued it, went for it, took that chance, and are now succeeding.”

“You could be inspired by these two – you should be inspired by these two.”

Todd also credits the St. Pete community for rallying behind CaseGlide’s vision. He pointed out that one of the city’s best success stories and biggest employers, UPC, has been a longtime supporter and partner.

“They support us by being our client, by being our partner, and by being our friend,” said Todd. “That’s a local, publicly-traded company choosing us as a local partner for their litigation software.”

Carly Todd said she couldn’t help but get a “little choked up” while giving her speech.

“This is our life,” she said. “We have a child, he’s almost two years old, but CaseGlide is our firstborn. To see it thrive like this makes me really proud and emotional.”
