ELYRIA, Ohio (WJW)– Two people were killed in a crash on state Route 57 in Elyria Thursday morning. It happened just south of North Abbe Road at about 11:30 a.m.
The driver of a semi-truck with a trailer lost control and crossed the median into the southbound lanes, according to Elyria police. The truck hit a mini van, while the trailer struck two other vehicles.
The driver and passenger of the van both died at the scene, police said. Their names have not been released. The drivers of the two other cars were taken to University Hospital Elyria Medical Center for treatment.
No charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.
