"WHAT ARE THESE?"

Brandon received some funny answers like,

"Looks like you found free range organic Q-tips."

Eddie answered with.

"They're tooth fairies taking a break".

Jim commented,

"pods from space. whatever you do...DON'T FALL ASLLEP"

Many people added that they were "fairy flies". The truth is they are called Aphids. Or Wooly Aphids. Some people call them "Aloha Bugs" because they are saying hello. In the south, they are nicknamed "Hi Bugs" because they are waving.

Aphids are a tiny bug that feeds by sucking sap from plants. It reproduces rapidly, often producing live young without mating, and may live in large colonies that cause extensive damage to crops.

Signs of severe aphid feeding are twisted and curled leaves, yellowed leaves, stunted or dead shoots and poor plant growth.

Bob Vila says the best way to get rid of Aphids is to simply mix a few teaspoons of liquid dish soap with one quart of water, then spray or wipe the solution onto the leaves, stems, and buds of the plant. (Don’t forget: These bugs like to hide beneath leaves, so take care to thoroughly coat the underside of the leaves, too.) Repeat the process every two or three days for the next few weeks, until you no longer notice aphids on the plant.
