Country superstar Keith Urban will need to make a little more room in his trophy case next month, as the hit maker is set to receive yet another outstanding award.
On October 13 Urban will be honored by the Country Radio Broadcasters organization, given the 2021 CRB Artist Career Achievement Award for his decades-long history of not just personal success, but also giving back.
Each year, the CRB Artist Career Achievement Award is given to an artist or act that, “through their creativity, vision, performance or leadership, has made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of country music and country radio.” Urban has been singled out for a lengthy career that has produced 24 Number Ones, four Grammy’s more than a dozen CMA and ACM Awards (each) and a reputation for incredible performances, among other things. But he’s also being highlighted as a tireless philanthropist, giving his time and money whenever possible.
Urban’s All For The Hall benefit concerts have raised over $4.2 million for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Plus, he is the first Ambassador of the CMA Foundation, which promotes school music programs, an advisory board member at the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and much, much more.
With all that in mind, Universal Music Group Nashville Chairman and CEO Mike Dungan will present Keith Urban with the award during the Country Radio Hall of Fame Induction Dinner and Awards Ceremony on October 13 in Nashville, and he’ll join a list of previous recipients that includes Rascal Flatts, Steve Wariner, Martina McBride, Randy Travis, Vince Gill, Brooks & Dunn, Charlie Daniels, Dolly Parton, Reba and more.
“Only a very select group of artists ascends to the level of this award,” says CRB/CRS Board President, Kurt Johnson. “They do it by combining years of uncompromised brilliant performance with sustained success. As Keith continues to reach new creative heights every year, let’s pause to celebrate him. Be there October 13 when we recognize him for all he has achieved…so far. The Class of 2021 Country Radio Hall of Fame inductees will also be honored at the event, this year’s Country Radio Seminar will return to Nashville February 23-25, 2022.
