Investigators seek truck owner in Raceland looting investigation

Lafourche Parish authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a truck owner wanted for questioning in connection with a looting investigation. 

Deputies were called out Monday to the 100 block of Buford Street in Raceland after a property owner reported three metal canopies and a metal chair had been stolen from the side of the building, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said. 

Security cameras captured an image of a Dodge Ram 1500 truck and trailer which was loaded with the stolen items around 1 p.m. Sept. 17, authorities said.  

According to state law, those convicted of looting could be fined up to $10,000 or receive 15 years in prison. There have been six looting arrests so far in Lafourche, officials said. 

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of the truck.
