Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have touched down in NYC! Ahead of their appearance at Global Citizen Live this weekend, the couple visited the One World Observatory on Thursday alongside Mayor Bill de Blasio; the mayor's wife, Chirlane McCray; their son, Dante de Blasio; and Governor Kathy Hochul. The two looked at ease as they held hands and smiled for the cameras. The appearance marked Harry and Meghan's first joint outing since the birth of their daughter, Lili, in June.

The following day, the couple visited students in Harlem, where Meghan read her children's book The Bench to a group of kids. "I wrote this when we just had our little boy, and I haven't read it to any other kids but you!" she told them, according to People. "The idea of representation — 'That looks like me!' — I wanted everyone to be included in this book."

On Sept. 25, Meghan and Harry attended the Global Citizen Live event in Central Park and gave a speech calling for COVID-19 vaccine equity. "We know that it feels like this pandemic has been going on forever — we get it, it is a lot — and some people are just over it," Meghan said. "But if everyone's over it, it's never going to be over. There is so much that we can do today, now, that can get us closer to ending this pandemic and that's why we're all here." Taking the mic, Harry added, "We're battling more than the pandemic alone. This is a battle of misinformation, bureaucracy, lack of transparency, and lack of access. And above all, this is a human rights crisis . . . My wife and I believe that where you're born should not dictate your ability to survive."

The last time we saw Meghan in NYC was in 2019 when she proudly supported Serena Williams at the US Open and held a baby shower with close friends for son Archie. When asked about her return to the city on Thursday, Meghan replied, "It's wonderful to be back, thank you."
