The Columbus Division of Police has identified an officer that was involved in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday near Hilliard Rome Road.
According to a "fact sheet" released by the department, a plain-clothes officer was working patrol due to thefts in the area. The officer noticed a person sleeping in a running vehicle at 700 Shakerton Lane. The officer reported it and three uniformed officers came to the scene.
The department said one of the officers remembered the man, identified as 43-year-old Brandon Webb, from an incident on Sept. 16 who ran from officers.
In the footage, police drew their weapons as they approached and appeared to deploy a device on the ground behind the vehicle.
Webb was taken into custody about a quarter mile down the road behind an office building near the intersection of Hilliard Rome Road and Manor Park Drive.

CPD said Officer David Drenning was involved in the incident. He is an 8-year veteran of the Division and is assigned to Zone 3 Patrol.
The investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and is ongoing.
