People Moves: Promotions at IAT Insurance Group, RT Specialty

IAT Insurance Group, a provider of specialty property/casualty and surety products, promoted Coy Rudd to lead the insurer’s excess and surplus business unit as executive vice president.

IAT’s E&S unit combines the company’s excess, binding and brokerage products marketed through its wholesale insurance distribution partners.

Rudd previously served as senior vice president of excess casualty mid-market.

IAT E&S is focused on middle and small market accounts in the binding, brokerage and excess casualty surplus lines space. The team collaborates with agents and wholesale broker clients to provide tailored solutions to meet customers’ needs.

Rudd joined IAT in November 2017, bringing 30 years of experience building and growing excess casualty business. Prior to joining IAT, he served as regional vice president for the East region at XL Catlin. Prior to XL Catlin, Rudd was vice president and excess product line manager at Colony Specialty Insurance, and his career has included positions at Axis U.S. Insurance, Investors Underwriting Managers and Reliance National Insurance Company, among others.

RT Specialty promoted Aleksander Soriano to account manager within its environmental and construction professional (ECP) practice. Soriano is based at RT’s Hamilton, New Jersey offices.

Since joining the company in 2019, Soriano has supported the practice’s production teams by creating sales proposals, developing coverage assessments and performing various account management tasks.

Prior to joining RT ECP, Soriano served as an earning estimates data analyst at Bloomberg LP and qualified marketing associate at the Martin Insurance Group.
