Atalanta midfielder Maarten de Roon has posted a superb, self-deprecating video on social media, where the 30 year old can't get anyone to buy a shirt with his name on the back.
The video is filmed in the club's shop and opens with de Roon promising that he will buy and sign the first three 'de Roon' shirts that are purchased by fans.

However, as time progresses, no de Roon enthusiasts enter the shop, meaning the Dutchman is forced to keep himself busy by playing cards, drinking tea and even taking a quick nap.
The video concludes with a member of staff at the shop telling de Roon that it's 7:30pm and that it's time to close the shop, much to the former Middlesbrough man's disappointment.
de Roon is known for being one of the funniest footballers on the planet. His current Twitter bio reads 'Summary of playing football in Italy: when we win I get the best table and the food for free. When we lose, my wife has to pick me up.'
The said video is already trending online, amassing over 100,000 views on Twitter and in excess of 1,000 retweets.

"Messi wishes he could be as good to play for Atalanta," one user commented, a reference to de Roon's caption of 'I bet Messi never has to deal with this.'
"I feel like I should get a de Roon Atalanta shirt now," a Manchester City fan remarked. "Only if Marten is still paying though!"
"Marten, you give me so much joy in all that you do," another fan said.
Since returning to Italy in 2017, de Roon has enjoyed great success, with the club finishing 3rd in Serie A for three consecutive seasons. 'The Goddess' have also made decent progress in Europe too, reaching the Champions League Quarter-Finals in 2020.
If he and they have another decent campaign this time around, maybe we'll see more 'de Roon-15- shirts around the Gewiss Stadium sooner rather than later.
