An area of Sprinkle Rd. in Kalamazoo County was closed for several hours last night after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole. It happened between Kilgore and Covington roads at around 5:15 p.m. and caused a power outage to dozens of Consumers Energy customers in the area.
Police say the crash resulted in several downed power lines, prompting a road closure so energy crews could work to restore electricity. There’s no word on what caused the crash or if there were any injuries.
Sprinkle Rd. was reopened at around 11:00 p.m.

Kalamazoo County Consolidated Dispatch announced Wednesday that Sprinkle Road is shut down in both directions between Kilgore Road and Covington due to a serious car crash.
An update will be provided once the route is back open. For now, motorists are asked to find alternate routes.
