For motorists driving in Iowa harvest season is underway, there is farm equipment on the highways, country roads and residential roads and drivers must have patience.

Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright says motorists driving behind farm equipment must not pass until it’s legal to pass. Arganbright describes the accidents that can happen.

“If you are passing farm equipment on a no passing zone and it’s unsafe you can meet traffic, oncoming traffic, from the other direction and accidents can be caused. It’s just not legal to  pass where there’s a no passing zone.”

He says that farm equipment is only on the roads for a short period of time so he advises to exercise patience.
