Victor Central School District Superintendent Tim Terranova held a Facebook Live meeting Wednesday to update the community on where it stands on COVID-19.
Terranova reported 28 positive cases throughout the district as of September 22nd, 24 of those being students.
Most of the of positive cases comes from Victor's primary school, with 17 reported cases.
Terranova said his main goal is to keep schools open as long as possible, since knowing the negative effects of the virtual model from the pandemic. However, if the cases keep rising, Terranova said they will have to look into temporary remote options. But for now, all schools in the district remain open.
A new COVID-19 testing model will be put in place for the school district. Students and staff will be subject to weekly testing.
Teachers and staff can opt out of testing if they show proof of vaccination.
Student are only allowed to be tested if they have parent or guardian consent.
This comes after the new New York State and CDC guidelines were announced in early September.
