Russell Westbrook hasn't even been a Los Angeles Laker for more than two months, and yet he has already gone full Hollywood. And no, he's not starring in Space Jam 3.

The Lakers guard is producing a documentary with Showtime centered around his own rise, from high school prospect to future NBA MVP. The documentary followed him in his stint with the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards, before his eventual trade to Los Angeles.

“I'm proud to share this documentary and give audiences an inside look into who I really am on and off the court,” said Westbrook. “There are a lot of misconceptions about me, but I'm ready to share my story and my journey with my fans.”

Russell Westbrook is certainly one of the most polarizing players in NBA history. Everything about the Lakers star makes fans love him or hate him depending on their personal preferences, and there's rarely any room in between for a more moderate view. This documentary gives Westbrook a chance to show a side of himself many others may not know about.

Beyond the questions about his own journey, Russell Westbrook and the Lakers still have a lot of questions to answer on the court. Their team has the star power and the veteran experience to win it all this season. It's just a matter of putting things together. Wouldn't that be the perfect ending to his documentary?
