The Chicago Cubs hosted UFC and MMA legend Conor McGregor and his family Tuesday night at Wrigley Field. The Cubs were taking on the Minnesota Twins in an absolute barnburner of a matchup between two eliminated squads. Nothing matters at this point, so why not?

The night could not have gotten off to any better of a start. Do you remember 50 Cent’s first pitch at a Mets game a few years ago?

How could anyone top this? Throw on a really expensive suit and head to Wrigley Field.

Poor Patrick Wisdom and his empty glove. They never stood a chance. McGregor was a good sport about it though. He laughed and shook Wisdom’s hand as they posed for a picture. I think Mr. Notorious actually thought he did a good job and I’m not even kidding. He said it was “The most devastating first pitch ever seen! The venom is there, the power is there.” Just a bit out side, my guy.

Chicago Cubs: For Conor McGregor, Wrigley felt like one big Irish pub

McGregor did confirm that this was indeed his first time at a baseball game. He compared the atmosphere to that of an Irish pub as he went on to compliment and admire everything but the actual game taking place, understandably.

But the most anticipated and memorable part of the night came when it was time for the 7th inning stretch. Now, we’ve been through some iconic renditions of our beloved song. There has been as bad as Ozzie Osbourne mumbling every word and Jeff Gordon calling it “Wrigley Stadium.” We’ve heard and seen iconic moments such as Mike Ditka getting through the whole thing in less than twenty seconds or really anytime Bill Murray comes around. We’ve seen it all, so no one was surprised with McGregor’s delivery here.

I’ll let you decide, but I’m almost positive him singing the song was the first time he had ever heard the song. I certainly hope he and the fam had a great time at the Friendly Confines. But I’d be remiss to not say if Conor McGregor is invited to have the red carpet rolled out for him at Wrigley Field, Sammy Sosa should be getting a call ten years ago.
