Home Games With Montana and Montana State Highlight Home Non-Conference Schedule

Grand Forks, N.D. – University of North Dakota head women's basketball coach Mallory Bernhard announced the non-conference portion of the schedule on Wednesday. The slate, which features 12 contests, is highlighted by four home games featuring two Division I foes.

The 2021-22 campaign will begin on November 4 with an exhibition matchup in the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center against Minnesota Crookston.

The Fighting Hawks will open the regular season by hitting the road first going to Ogden, UT for a game against the Wildcats of Weber State on Tuesday, November 9. North Dakota owns a 9-3 record all-time against the Wildcats with all 12 of those games occurring when both schools were members of the Big Sky Conference.

The next match up will also be on the road out in the west Texas town of El Paso to take on the UTEP Miners of Conference USA on Saturday, Nov 13.  This will be the first ever meeting between North Dakota and UTEP.

North Dakota comes back to a welcoming home crowd for two games against former Big Sky foes with a game on November 18 against Montana and again on November 20 against Montana State.  Both of these games will be played in the afternoon.

The following week, UND heads east to Vermont to partake in the Vermont Tourney hosted in Burlington. They will play two teams determined at a later date on November 27 and November 28. They will close out the month of November in Albany, NY for a matchup with Siena.

Heading into December, UND will return home again to the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center to take on MN Morris on December 4 before heading to the Badger state to take on Marquette in Milwaukee, WI on December 11.

A quick trip back home rounds out the home non-conference season with an in-state matchup against Mayville State on December 15.  The match up with the Comets will be the 35th all-time with North Dakota being victorious the previous 34 contests.

The Hawks will then finish the non-conference schedule with a trip to take on Detroit Mercy in Detroit on December 18.  This will be the first ever match up between North Dakota and Detriot Mercy.
